Friday Yoga Lesson

Hi effrycat!

Today I'm going to gif you a yoga lesson on my new yoga mat! Ready?

First you haf to lie down on your side...

Then you haf to purr lots whilst plodding wif your paws.

So there you haf it! Easy! I don't unnerstand why Mummy sweats so much, I think yoga is an easy workout. Maybe it's cos she is lazy?

Remember to practice your yoga as often as possible, it's furry impawtant for maintaining good posture.

I don't know what that means but it sounds furry good!

Hey effrycat!

I'm pawfully sorry I haven't posted in soooo long. Mummy is really busy going out with her friends and being a 'ho so it leaves little time for me to blog. No fair!

Anyway, I got the most pawsome Christmas stocking from Santa Paws! Wanna see?

Yao-Lin got a stocking too but I'm not sure how cos he is always naughty and NEVER nice! Mummy didn't get any pictures of Yao opening his stocking because he hasn't bothered getting out of bed all over Christmas. In fact, the only time anyone has seen Yao-Lin for days is when he saunters into the kitchen to scoff some turkey. Apparently that is really tiring cos afterwards he goes straight back to bed to sleep it off.

I don't mind tho cos I have been busy playing with my toys and drinking turkey gravy!

Update on Tuesday

Well, mummy took me to vets yesterday. I was given a painkiller injection and a really really strong antibiotic injection.

The vet says I have chipped my front tooth and also lost one of my little teeth at the front. My nails are scuffed too so it looks like I have had a scare of some sort and hurt myself.

Ha! Shows how much they know! What really happened was this:

I was hungry so I wandered into town to get some KFC. When I got there, I realised I didn't have any money to pay for my chicken dippers and milkshake so I panicked and ran away.

Just then, a policeman ran after me so I jumped over the wall, chicken in paw, missed my footing and tumbled into next doors garden.

And that's how I got my injuries! I know I am naughty stealing KFC but Yao-Lin taught me how so you can't blame me.

I'm Back!

Hey effrycat!

I'm back and I am OK! I am so happy that you were worried 'bout me! Yao-Lin says nocat cares about me but my illness proved him wrong.

It was a really reallly bad time and I was really really angry wiv Mummy for abandoning me. Then to make matters worse, she kept on shoving yucky pills down my throat! I scratched her a few times a'cos I wos angry. Plus my big brother was AWFUL - he only stopped hitting me yesterday! Can you believe it! A whole week of being poked and prodded, pilled and then pounced on.

Still, I'm OK now and all is right wiv my world. I even left a special present in the bathroom this morning, just for mummy. ha ha!

I hope effryfing is right with your world, too!

World War Three

Hi, it's the human slave again!

Baby Mao can't blog - he is home but sadly he is cowering under the bed.

Since he came home, Yao-Lin has been a total brat. He took one look at Mao, went ballistic and hasn't stopped hissing at him for the last three hours!

I've fed them separately and am trying to keep them apart at the moment.

I understand that Yao-Lin is grieving for the love of his life but there is really no need to take it out on his little brother. Mao is equally as upset at the prospect of losing a fellow royal meezer.

On a lighter note, Baby Mao seems back to normal, a little skinny but that is to be expected. I have the joy of giving him his antibiotic pills and pro-kolin paste twice a day!

Back to the vet for a check up on Friday, paws crossed this episode won't repeat!

We are all sending our warmest purrs to dear Storm who has fought such a brave battle. We will always love you Storm.

Diagnosis: Food Poisoning!

This is the Human Slave.

I dashed to the vet after work and went to visit Baby. In his 'cell', with a bandaged arm attached to a drip, he cut quite the pathetic figure! He saw me, stared at me with his big blue eyes and then HISSSSSSED pure venom at me! I was devastated!

I opened the door and luckily he soon returned to his usual affectionate self - the vet said that he has been extremely vocal and has voiced his displeasure exceptionally well! Apparently he had diarrhea all night last night but today has settled down and is recovering nicely.

The vet says she thinks it was a really bad case of feline food poisoning - at this point I felt obliged to explain about Baby Mao's night time trips to next door's rubbish bins and how he regularly returns with KFC, naan bread, curried chicken etc etc - a skill taught to him by Yao-Lin!

The vet chuckled and agreed that this was the most likely cause of his illness. Whatever he ate, it made him very ill but thankfully he is on the mend now.

I can pick him up tomorrow evening after work but he has to stay indoors for three days.

I'll be off to the shops tomorrow to buy some lamb chops and steak for a special welcome home dinner for him. I miss my baby!

Thank you SO MUCH for your positive purrs! I really do believe in the power of positive purring - I've seen it work wonders across the cat blogosphere and I can't thank you enough for your loving comments!

I'll be sure to get Baby Mao to blog as soon as he is home, I imagine he will have quite a tail to tell!

Baby Mao is at the Vets

This is Baby Mao's Mummy.

Unfortunately, Baby can't post tonight because he is spending the evening at the Vets.

It all started on Saturday - Baby Mao was out all day and wouldn't eat anything when he came in. This is not like the little porker at all - he usually eats me out of house and home, despite his diminutive appearance!

Sunday - he disappeared all day and I spent the day out searching for him. Finally he jumped over the wall having spent a lot of time asleep in next door's greenhouse.

He still wasn't eating or drinking so I syringed some water into his mouth which went down REALLY well with him! I have the scratches to prove it!

Today there was no improvement so I rushed him to our vet who is keeping him in on a drip tonight and running blood tests. She says he may just have had a cold because his throat seems tender and sore and his temperature is up slightly - the cold may have turned into an infection of some sort.

He kept making retching sounds at his food and licking his lips as though he had a nasty taste in his mouth! I have no idea why but I am sure the vets will find out what is wrong.

He howled all the way to the vets office and even more when we arrived. Somewhat amusingly, when the vet took his temperature, he - how can I put this - 'fluffed' and the most nauseating smell drifted throughout the entire building! It was really rather embarrassing!

The vet is confident that it is nothing serious, he isn't even two years old yet and is pretty healthy in all other respects.

I'll get the results tomorrow at 11:00 am but in the meantime, please purr for Baby Mao because I know he will be throwing the mother of all temper tantrums!!

I do hope the staff have strong stomachs when they clean his litter tray tomorrow!

I'll be sure to keep you all posted and will pass on all of your purrs and hugs.

Yao-Lin insisted that we haf the 'lectric blanket on all week. It's been so hot - I had to slip into something cooler! So I put my favourite Hawaiian outfit on.

As you can see, my favourite Hawaiian outfit has a bright PINK bikini top! I luf it! I fink I know somecat else who mite luf it too!

I also luf my green grass skirt. I think that the Hawaiian dancers where outfits like this.

So if I wear my slippers I can dance the night away!

SNOWY SUNDAY! YIPPEEE!

Hey effrycat!

Today the most wonderful thing happended! I woke up and the whole garden was covered in snow!

I know for many of my friends, this is probably not that strange an event but for us meezers on the Isle of Wight - it's unheard of! Especially in April!

Yao-Lin made a big sulky fuss about the cold. I kind of liked it except it made it a bit too cold for a nice morning poo in the garden *sigh*

Today is the BEST MONDAY EVER!!!!

Why? Well, first of all, the Cat Realm kindly gave me this fabulous towel turban so now I am all relaxed after washing my furs!

Hey effrycat!

I love this photo of me and Yao-Lin. It looks like we are snuggling but really we are playing a game called 'squish'. The rules are: use your sibling as a pillow and then squish your head into theirs until one of you moves. The winner gets the bed all to themself!

Me and Yao-Lin played this game for hours and hours! He gave in eventually but I had to use the power of smelly farts to make him move!

Hey effrycat! As you can see, I am a furry worried cat in this photo.

Only because I was trying on all my clothes to find something suitable to wear to the Oscars for the Cat Realm's contest and NOTHING seemed to fit right!

Eventually I found a nice outfit and I will be posting the final result on February 24th just like effrycat else!

The Results of the Poll

Well, effrycat - the results of my very impawtant poll are in.

It looks like 18 of you smell like roses and lavender all the time. This is very good news for your Mummy and Daddy and siblings. Concatulations.

10 of you stink when you are in a hurry. This is totally understandable.

8 of you live with stinky siblings. This is unfortunate but also, well, tough really! Us poo smellers are here to stay so deal with it! Ha ha!

4 of us smell like poo all the time! THAT my friend is positively fabulous news! I think if my poll had been private then the number would have been way higher. Still, I am pleased that 4 of us fessed up!

When Mummy first got me she knew she would call me Mao because I am siamese and it is pretty appropriate! And then I realised that I could get away with whatever I wanted because I am half the size of Yao-Lin and I still look and act like a baby!

I have lots of nicknames: Stinky Mao, poo boy, stinky noo noo, Mummy's little stinker, uh-oh looks like we need the air freshener again, please don't jump on the counter with poo all over your paws, oh my God that stench is straight from the bowels of hell - to name but a few!

I like all my nicknames and I don't mind mummy calling me them at all. Besides, I just ignore her if she says something I don't like!

I Was Cat of the Year!

HEY EFFRYCAT!!

Today is a very exciting day!

You see, ages and ages and ages ago, I was voted Cat of the Month for my submission to Cats in Boxes! You can see my entry HERE.

Well, the nice lady who runs the site emailed me and said that I am also FUNNIEST CAT OF THE YEAR!!!

Hey effrycat!!!

I had the BEST Christmas ever! I got this lovely bed from Santa Claws AND it is big enough for me and Yao-Lin to stretch out in!

It is made of plush material and is very very snuggly and it is made via the RSPCA and Mummy says that is a good thing for kitties in need.

I also got lots of turkey and lots of roast lamb. Mmm!

Yao-Lin hasn't come out of the new bed for two days. He must be very tired becos he isn't saying much!

Anyway, I hope effrycat's Christmas was as good as mine!

Every time you cook I get scared. The loud wail of the fire alarm and all the smoke is very very scary for a little cat like me.

Today I didn't have a very good day.

Mummy took me to the vet for a check up.

I got very very upset when I saw the cat carrier and it took mummy an hour to get me into it.

When we finally got to the Vet's office, the man was very nice and he said I was beeeyooootiful. I just hissed at him.

Then I had an injection and he forced a pill down my throat.

And before I left and then when I got home, all Yao-Lin did was laugh and laugh and laugh at me.

*sniff*

S'not fair.

Mummy! Can I have my treats now for being such a special brave boy?

Thanksgiving Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving to my America friends!

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in England which is a shame becos we have a lot to be thankful for!

Except maybe for the football results - England lost to Croatia 3-2 last night! Mummy said it was a dismal performance but truthfully England didn't really deserve to go through anyway.

So I thought I would list thirteen things I am thankful for :

1. My warm fur. It keeps me toasty.

2. My Mummy. She lets me snuggle under her T-Shirt when it's cold.

3. My yummy food. Everyday I get a yummy dinner and I eat all of it and then I sneak some of Yao-Lin's when he isn't looking. Ha ha!

4. My toys. I have lots and lots of toys.

5. My zoom groom! It's great! I purr and purr. I was frightened of it at first but then I realised how nice it feels.

6. My blog. I love how many friends I have and I LOVE receiving international parcels! They are sooo much fun!

7. My catnip banana. Well, I am thankful for it but I haven't actually been allowed to play with it yet. I will, in time.

8. My big brother. He may be moody but he does get things done around here.I have to give credit where credit is due - Yao-Lin knows exactly how to get mummy to clean the litter tray/cook the dinner/feed us treats etc.

9. My siamese howl. I like to excercise my vocal cords every day at 5:00 am. I think I sound like an angel singing. ;-)

10. My neighbours who eat KFC every weekend. Yao-Lin always manages to steal some and afterwards he brings it back and we play with it. Except he growls at me but that is ok cos it is still fun and a bit tasty too.

11. My girlfriend Kaia.

12. My clothes. Mummy always buys me cute clothes.

13. My mummy's wages which keep the stinky goodness coming.

Haf a lovely Thanksgiving all my American friends, I wish I could celebrate it over there with you!

This is my new T-Shirt! I love it!

Mummy bought it for me because it says ' Angel' on it and I am mummy's little angel. Allegedly.

You can also wear this shirt with the words at the front. It looks equally stylish!

It's very impawtant to give loving looks to the camera, especially if there is a chance your girlfriend might see the pictures! Kaia can I be your angel?

Dear Kaze, Latte, Chase & all the cats who voted for me in the Halloween Contest.

My parcel arrived but it was intercepted before I had the chance to inspect the contents.

I did not realise you would be sending drugs in the form of a cat nip banana. Yao-Lin has been going MENTAL since the parcel arrived and I am now getting quite scared.

I am also very very cross with my brother because he won't let go of MY catnip banana. Mummy keeps chasing me with the zoom groom and I haf to keep telling her I just want the nip. You understand, I am sure.

Anyway, maybe one day I will be allowed to play with my new toy. It looks and smells very exciting!!

I am very very grateful to have received such a fantastic parcel all the way from America and I want to say a sincere thank you to my good friends in the cat blogosphere. That's all of you except for Yao-Lin who is fast becoming my sworn enemy.

1. The sweetest thing i will do to my Mummy is to curl up on her lap, purr lots and then move in for the fingers!. I love licking my Mummy's fingers. I don't know why. I just do. I prefer ladies fingers to mens. I don't know why. I just do!

Hey effrycat! I am so happy you liked my halloween outfit! I really really want to win but Yao-Lin says there is no category for the Stinkiest Meezer and that I am not even in with a chance. *humph*

Anyway, I wanted to tell you about my exciting day yesterday!!

1. Mummy came home from work early and she had a bag full of stuff and I just KNEW it was stuff for me!!!

2. I got so excited, I started running around like a crazy cat and Mummy thought I was being so cute that she gave me a yummy salmon treat. Result!

3. I got to go on a little adventure in the PTU. Well, it wasn't a HUGE adventure because me and Yao-Lin just stayed in the car but it was still fun, I felt like I was sneaking out!

4. I did get a little bored in the car so I had a nice nap.

5. When I woke up, Mummy was carrying me into the house and I could smell YUMMY food!

6. I got fillet steak for dinner PLUS some more salmon treats.

7. Mummy had bought me some fantastic toys!

8. One of my new toys was a selection of grey and orange mice which I just LOVE LOVE LOVE to play with.

9. Mummy explained to me that the Landlady had just been round and apparently she isn't keen on pets so that's why she had to hide me. I nodded to say I understood and then played with all my toys.

10. Yao-Lin went to bed in a big sulk so Mummy spent the evening playing with me and my new toys! It was PAWSOME!

11. I got to stay up late and eat ice-cream. It was a bit cold but I really liked licking the bowl.

12. I forgot to mention, Mummy spring cleaned the litter tray and I had a LOT of fun stinking it up again.

13. Mummy gave me extra cuddles because she felt guilty. I don't know why - I was only in the PTU for ten minutes.

Anyway, that's my Thursday Thirteen for today!

Today has been a very very good day for me.

When I woke up this morning, the sun was shining and the litter tray had been cleaned.

1. Please may I have some sirloin steak? You bought it last month and it was yummy. I don't really like the quick fry cheap steak anymore, just the juicy sirloin. Thank you .

2. Please may I have some more Sheba Beef in gravy?

3. Please may I have some more toys? I am a little bit bored with the toys scattered around the house.

4. Please may I have a cat cradle for the heater? The central heating is on now and I think I would benefit from another heat source, other than Yao-Lin.

5. Please may I have some roast lamb?. Yao-Lin is busy eating some and I want my own.

6. Please may I have some nice clothes from the woof and wag website? I love the pink jumper best and I think I would look really nice in it.

7. Please may I have a new collar? Mine is a bit tatty and I want to look my best incase Kaia sees me!

8. Please may I have some nice expensive cat litter? I don't like the clumping kind.

9. Please may I rent Shrek The Third from Blockbuster this weekend? I have been wanting to watch it for ages.

10. Please may I have some catnip ravioli? The other cats brag about it all the time and I think I am old enough to try it.

11. Please may you buy some more catnip seeds? I ate the little plants that were germinating in the pot so now we need some more.

I am a little bit annoyed today and here is why:

Thirteen Reasons Why Mummy Is Too Busy To Help Me Blog:

1. Sims 2 Bon Voyage was just released and she is spending all her time sending her sims on holiday.

2. She just spent ages uploading thirteen photos of Yao-Lin being naughty.

3. She has gone back to work. *sigh*

4. She is too busy cooking my steak dinner. Ok, I will let her off on that one.

5. She has to do boring online banking.

6. People keep coming over to the house and distracting her from me and my blog!

7. She has to clean the cat poo off the carpet. Ok, I will let her off on that one too.

8. She just noticed that I put poo prints on the bedroom curtains and now she has to find out how to wash her voile curtains without damaging the delicate material. Except they have already been shredded by Yao-Lin so it doesn't really matter.

9. She has to go and have a shower. She is a bit smelly right now. That is rich coming from me!

10. She wants to watch Heroes on TV tonight.

11. She has to get the laundry done.

12. She has to phone her friends to catch up.

13. She has to go to bed because she is tired from work!

Hey effrycat!

I got tagged by Kellie the Orange Cat to tell you about how I got my name!

Well, honestly, I think effrycat knows that there are hundreds of Siamese cats out there who are called Mao. I mean, it's what we do best, right? " Maooo, Maooo, Maooo".

Well, I have always been the baby of the family, being the youngest and I always manage to get my own way. For the first year of my life, I constantly heard my mummy say " Yao-Lin, leave your brother alone, he is just a baby". I made the conscious decision then that I NEVER want to grow up. I am half the size of Yao-Lin and I will always be a baby.Except when I am flirting with Kaia and then I am a mancat.

I have to go and play now and I think my dinner is ready. Oh, before I forget, I would like to say Hello to the beans in Leslie's class! Thank you for enjoying my blog and I am glad the smell didn't put you off!!

Woweee! Look at this awesome, pawsome picture that Maggy and Zoey made for me over at Zoolatry. I LOVE it!!! Yao-Lin is so jealous. I don't know why because he has a beautiful picture as well but I think he is a bit annoyed becos somecat thought of me too instead of just him. He is such a drama queen.
